FAQ

How much do your services cost?

My fee is $425.  This includes 2 one-hour, pre-marital counseling meetings (in which we will also talk about the customized details of your ceremony), the rehearsal (if you want one), the wedding, and I will mail-in your signed wedding license to the Clerk of the Court.  A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to reserve a date and begin our work together.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, check, money order, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.  For payment by check, the date will be reserved once the check has cleared, and final payment is due 10 business days prior to the wedding.  For that reason, it is much easier for most couples to use one of the other form of payments (credit card, debit card, or money order).

Where do I get a marriage license?

You need to obtain your marriage license from the Clerk of the Court in the county in which you will be married (e.g. Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach). Each county has time constraints regarding your license, so it is important for you to familiarize yourself with those. Below are links to each county’s Clerk of Courts.

If you are a GLBT couple and wish to be legally married for federal benefits, please contact us for information on states that will allow you to do this. We collaborate with companies in those states who specialize in facilitating your legal union. In many cases, couples choose to take a quick trip to Washington, DC for their legal ceremony, and then come back to have a beautiful wedding (perhaps on the beach) here in South Florida where they can celebrate with their friends and family.

Will you attend the rehearsal?

Yes, my services include attending the rehearsal.

May we write our own vows?

Sure!  You can write your own vows, or use traditional vows.

Are you an ordained minister? What is your training?

Yes. You can read more about me here: About Pastor Kennedy

What will you wear at our wedding?

That depends on the type of wedding your are having, and on what you prefer. I can wear a clergy robe, clergy collar suit, a dark suit, a linen suit, or more casual attire (e.g for a beach wedding).

Do I include you as a guest at the reception?

It’s really up to you.  Typically,  it is customary to invite the officiant and his/her spouse as guests. However, if you prefer not to, that is OK as well.  In most cases, my wife and I will be delighted to attend your reception and join in celebrating the joy of  your union.  Other times, my previous obligations may prevent us from attending the reception.

How do I reserve your services?
